Hair Cuts

Clara and I got hair cuts today. She usually gets hers done every other time I go. Melissa always does a great job and is sure to put it up in really cute pigtails when she's done. This time Clara got a cool zig-zag part. I had to take a picture.

Blankie, oh blankie, how I love thee!

Clara had elephant, which consequently is no longer her main man. Hazel has blankie. Her very favorite baby blankie. It is a cotton two layer receiving blanket, light green, that was once used by Clara and then used by Hazel. She sleeps with blankie every night all balled up, tucked in against her cheek and neck. Very frequently, she sucks on the tag which is looking quite gross, despite many washings. Blankie is dragged out of the crib and throughout the house on many occations. He has not made it out of the house on outings but she isn't exactly vocal about that sort of thing yet. I'm wondering how long she'll be attached to her lovie. If this will be like Clara and she'll outgrow her favorite thing fast or if she'll hold onto it forever. I'm reminded of my favorite lovie from my childhood. It's a light pink waffle weave blanket that used to have satin trim. My grandma tried to throw it away once and I retrieved it. It still remains in my possession today, tucked away in a box with my photos and other memorabilia.

Clean up

We were raking leaves today. Naturally, I had to take advantage of all that leaf throwing to snap a few photos. Clara was really having fun. Hazel wasn't so fond of the rolling around but she loved helping to place all the leaves in our barrels. At some point Clara came to me excited because she found a very cool bug which she placed on her hand to crawl around (a slug). "Mommy do you want to hold it?" "Umm . . .no thanks sweetie." Eck! We gathered quite a few leaves for my garden. I hope to gather more for future layering.

Happy Halloween!

My Halloween cuties! We had a nice Halloween this year. Tim and Elissa had us over for an awesome party. Which was great because when it came time to trick or treat it was raining and we had to pass on the candy gathering. I was totally fine with this having no real desire to have sugared up kids for weeks. We got the best part of Halloween, the cuties dressing up, with minimal amounts of the worst part, the candy. After the holiday, I took some photos of the girls and their friends at the museum in their get-ups. You can check out the photos here on my site - www.pumpkinseedphoto.com/other/halloweenkids You will probably have to enter password - deemer789. All the hard work on Hazel's pirate costume was worth it. One can't get much cuter and simultaniously trickier than her. Since, Halloween she has developed a new word "nandy" which she uses quite often. She might be cute but no one in this house eats candy for breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. Thus, the toddler tantrums continue.
